I figured I would start off and introduce you to one of my favorite places: the farmer’s market in Berkeley Heights. I don’t know that it has a name, but it’s been here for years. In the summer there are fresh fruits and vegetables, the corn on the cob is out of this world! Whenever I go there I am greeted by the older gentleman that runs it, he asks me how I am and usually gives me a deal, or throws in some extra stuff. I buy my herbs from him as well. The prices are reasonable, and the produce is top notch.
The best part about this farmer’s stand is that after they close at 5pm there is a box in the front with change in it. If you want vegetables at night you can go there and get what you need and put money in the box. It’s a regular box, you can give yourself change when you need it. Whenever I am there I see > $30 in it, and as far as I know it’s never been stolen.
I run into people there some nights, we will say hi and remark on how nice it is to have a place like this in our neighborhood. I always leave an extra dollar or two for the awesome service.
